Kyle
Positive Behavior with PBIS
Kyle Elementary is devoted to supporting its youngest Trojans through the full implementation of Tier I and Tier II PBIS, fostering a positive school environment essential for student well-being and academic progress. By embracing a team approach to learning, Kyle strengthens collective teacher efficacy and aligns with John Hattie’s research on impactful education practices. The school is committed to the professional learning community (PLC) process, where teachers collaborate in teacher-based teams (TBTs) to review academic performance in alignment with the district’s strategic plan.
Forest
Collaborative TBT & Writing
Forest Elementary continues its commitment to two key initiatives this year. Teachers are collaborating in teacher-based teams to refine classroom instruction in ELA and math through a continuous improvement cycle of assessment, planning, and review. This collaborative approach ensures quality instruction for all students. Additionally, the school is building on last year’s successful focus on writing, which led to improved state assessment scores, with continued emphasis on writing skills across grade levels.
Heywood
Bridging Learning Gaps
Heywood Elementary is committed to closing learning gaps through a dedicated daily intervention time. During an assigned 40-minute slot, General Education teachers, Intervention Specialists, and Instructional Aides collaborate to deliver research-based, effective interventions tailored to student needs. This targeted support reinforces tier 1, on-grade-level learning, helping students achieve academic success. The Heywood team is excited to work together to make a meaningful impact for all students.
Cookson
Data-Driven Instruction
Cookson Elementary is committed to enhancing teaching quality through careful data analysis and targeted interventions. Every Tuesday morning, teachers engage in Teacher-Based Teaming sessions to plan Tier One instruction, assess student data, and create tailored instructional groups. Instructional aides support this effort by facilitating small group learning for K-5 students, guided by classroom teachers. The principal also holds data-driven meetings with grade-level teams five times a year to review student progress and adjust instructional groupings, ensuring that all students achieve at least one year’s growth annually.
Hook
Targeted Intervention Schedule
Our team is continuing our blocks of time for intervention. We have a half-hour a day of reading and a half-hour a day of math intervention. During this time, children receive small group instruction to help them grow at their level! Teachers meet after six weeks of instructional time to evaluate the assessments given to students and make changes. The schedule is definitely a puzzle, but it's worth the effort! We saw huge gains in the last two years!
Concord
Student Growth through Data
Concord Elementary continues to focus on student growth. Staff continue to focus on collecting high quality student data, utilizing grade level teacher based teams to study and dissect data to build instructional skill groups, and to implement daily intervention blocks to support all students' needs. We continue to grow in this process and are excited to continue to focus on student growth. Concord was #1 in the county on performance index based on the state report card.
Van Cleve
Targeted Learning
Based on a thorough analysis of last year's results, the Van Cleve Building Leadership Team (BLT) has identified key instructional priorities for this school year. These include a stronger emphasis on direct instructional strategies in Informative Writing and a continued integration of vocabulary instruction across all subjects to enhance literacy skills. In math, the focus will be on Geometry and Statistics, with these topics introduced earlier in the year and reinforced through a daily spiral review to keep skills sharp. These targeted efforts aim to drive academic growth and improve student outcomes across core areas.
Junior High
Honoring Excellence and Growth
This year at TJHS, we're dedicated to celebrating students’ hard work and dedication more regularly across the school. Through our new Stars of the Month initiative, each team recognizes one Shining Star and one Rising Star every month. Daily announcements feature the specific achievements and qualities that led each student to be honored, reinforcing a culture of recognition and pride in our school community.
High School
Achieving 5 Stars, Reducing Absenteeism
Troy High School is committed to achieving 5-star ratings on the Ohio State Report Card by focusing on two key areas: student achievement and attendance. To boost achievement, the goal is for at least 80% of students to score proficient or higher on all End of Course Exams. This effort is supported by collaborative teacher-based teams (TBTs) that emphasize high-quality instruction and data-driven interventions for students needing additional support. In tackling chronic absenteeism, Troy HS is building strong student relationships, fostering engagement, and collaborating with community resources to make school a place where students want to be.
